Tags - How to Reuse Smoothie Cup
Smoothie cups are incredibly cheap and convenient.
However, most of them end up living their lives in landfills across the country, which has negative effects on the environment.
So, rather than throwing away your smoothie cup after you’ve finished, it’s time to get creative and reuse them for everyday tasks.
Here are 5 uses for your smoothie cup after you’ve finished that you may not have thought about.
Smoothie cups can help you start a new vegetable or flower garden indoors.
To do this, thoroughly rinse your smoothie cup out to get rid of any juices and let it dry.
Then, fill the cup about half way with soil, water well and plant your seeds.
And once seedlings begin to appear, you’ll need to start “hardening off” the plants which you can do by moving the cup outside for a short period of time each day; gradually increase the time spent outdoors.
Lastly, once the plants are ready to stay outside, use your smoothie cup lid to cover the seedlings, turning the cup into a mini greenhouse.
Whether you’re hanging up a picture frame or fixing the bathroom sink, nails, screws, nuts and bolts seem to multiply overtime - where do they all come from!?
Luckily, you can reuse your smoothie cup and store tiny parts and pieces away; use the lid to make sure they don’t go everywhere if accidentally knocked over.
And, use a permanent marker or sticky labels to make things easier to find, as well as stacking cups together to maximise storage space.
Work or study desks can get cluttered very quickly.
However, you can keep work spaces nice and tidy by reusing your smoothie cups.
Rather than spending the cash on desktop organisers, you can store pens and pencils and use the smoothie cup as a pen holder.
Similarly, your old smoothie cup can be useful for storing random odds like letter openers, hobby knives or scissors too.
Not only that, but you can use smaller smoothie cups to store office accessories like rubber bands, safety pins, thumbtacks etc so you don’t have to rummage through your drawer!
Reuse your old smoothie cup but turn it into your new piggy bank, saving you money in more ways than one!
When you have loose change, save it up by cashing in the coins into the plastic cup. And, if you really want to be surprised with how much you’ve saved, you can paint the cup so you can’t see what’s inside.
Moreover, you could have a cup for each coin, for example, one cup for pennies, another for 5p coins, a third for 10p coins and so on.
If you’ve been to a party or a bake sale, cupcakes are a little awkward to transport.
However, you can prevent your cupcake from getting squashed by using your old smoothie cup as an individual cupcake holder!
This way your cupcake will stay intact and still look as good as it did when you first had it - although it won’t stay like that in your tummy!
Give your smoothie cup a second life with the help of creativity and reuse them instead of throwing them out.
Hopefully now, you can use either some of these ideas or come up with your own to save money and reduce waste at home.
